Preparations are underway for tomorrow’s annual Hollywood Christmas Parade.

This year’s grand marshal is actress Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) from ALL MY CHILDREN – and not just because of star-power, says parade chairman Michel Papadaki.

"She specifically was selected because as Los Angeles knows, the motion picture and television industry is struggling economically as many businesses are and her show is moving from New York back to Los Angeles."

Coca-Cola is sponsoring the parade. MyNetworkTV will record the event for nationwide broadcast next month.

The parade begins at 6 Sunday evening in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard.

Celebs scheduled to appear this year include Lou Gossett Jr. ("An Officer & a Gentleman"), Cindy Williams ("Laverne & Shirley"), TV host Montel Williams, Lee Majors ("The Six Million Dollar Man"), "General Hospital" star Genie Francis, "The Bold & the Beautiful"'s Lesley-Anne Down, "The Young and the Restless" Kate Linder, Kim Wayans & Shawn Wayans, "CSI: Miami"'s Eva La Rue, "The Vampire Diaries"' Katerina Graham, Judge Mathis, actors Antonio Sabato, Jr. and Lorenzo Lamas, "American Idol"'s Ace Young, and many more.

Parade Grand Marshals of the last few decades have included Bob Hope, Bob Barker, Regis Philbin, Charlton Heston, Lou Gossett, Tony Danza, Tom Arnold and David Hasselhoff.

Christopher Eccleston has signed up to play John Lennon in a new BBC drama.



The one-off BBC Four production, titled Lennon Naked will chronicle the life of the former Beatles singer between 1967 and 1971.

Christopher Fairbank, Naoko Mori, Claudie Blakley, Rory Kinnear, Michael Colgan, Andrew Scott and Allan Corduner have also signed up to star in the project.

"Securing Christopher Eccleston to play John Lennon is further testament to the calibre of drama on BBC Four," said BBC drama commissioning controller Ben Stephenson.

And her latest daring style will no doubt be copied far and wide by fans trying to get the Lily look - although this time it seems to have been unexpectedly inspired by an Disney character.

For wearing a shoulder-length black and white choppy wig at her sell-out south London gig last night, the star was reminiscent of 101 Dalmatians villain Cruella de Vil.

However, looking confident and healthy in a belted sparkly mini-dress, the 24-year-old pulled the look off with aplomb.

Because House is on the same night and at the same time, I always miss HIMYM, and I don't have DVR.

Hulu doesn't have that stuff, which blows.

The rags-to-riches story of The Spice Girls is on its way to the stage.

Viva Forever, a musical based on the best-selling girl group of the 1990s, will open in London on Nov. 5, 2010, according to new reports. Named after their 1998 No.1 hit, the musical is currently in pre-production and being written by Kim Fuller — who also penned the script for the group’s 1997 film Spiceworld. Kim is the brother of former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller.


Viva Forever will chronicle the rise of the groups five members, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Victoria Beckham, Mel C and Emma Bunton, with the help of 14 of the band’s biggest hits.

Polish director Roman Polanski’s family is thanking French President Nicolas Sarkozy for being “very effective” in helping to win his release from a Swiss prison.

“I wouldn’t go so far as to say that it is thanks to the President that Roman has been freed, but he has been super,” Polanski’s sister-in-law, Mathilde Seigner, told Le Parisien newspaper. “The President has been very effective.”

The London Times speculated that Sarkozy’s wife, ex-model Carla Bruni, may have pressured her husband to intervene because she used to hob nob with Paris’ artistic community, which includes Polanski and wife Emmanuelle Seigner. ( ........ )

Wino’s putting together her own Winter Wonderland. Headline-grabbing jazz vocalist Amy Winehouse dropped over $32,000 on Christmas decorations this week. The singer spent six hours in London department store Selfridges loading up on trinkets to turn her London home into a Christmas palace, sources tell The Mirror. After store officials warned she could seriously injury herself if she wired anything incorrectly, Amy forked over a fistful of dough for everything to be professionally installed.


“Amy was on a mission to get as much seasonal stuff as possible. She ended up buying musical lights, dancing Santas and moving reindeers,” said a source. “The only thing she didn’t buy was a Christmas tree.”

GIRLS ALOUD star Nicola Roberts is following in the footsteps of bandmate Cheryl Cole by landing her own TV show.

But unlike Chezza's light entertainment fodder, Nic's new programme will be ultra-serious.

She is shedding light on the dangerous world of "tanorexics" - women who are addicted to tanning products.

The term - coined from anorexia - applies to sufferers who constantly think they look too pale.



Nic, who battled the condition it in the past, will lift the lid on the issue in a BBC3 film.

The star, 24, has previously admitted: "I tried to cover up my insecurities by turning into a big-time tanorexic.

"I had every product from every range. It filled a shelf in my bathroom and no matter how exhausted I was, I needed my fix."
